Outstanding Clinical Instructor Awards


Annually, students nominate supervising physical therapists and physical therapist assistants who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to clinical education and superior clinical teaching.

The following characteristics are considered in the selection process:

  1. Attitude toward clinical teaching
  2. Communication skills
  3. Clinical teaching skills
  4. Commitment to the profession/professional role modeling
  5. Mentoring abilities

All nominations are accepted and reviewed by a selection committee. Recipients are recognized at the Consortium Annual Workshop.


VPTA Student Clinical Excellence Award


Annually, each district in the Virginia Physical Therapy Association recognizes and awards a PT and a PTA student for clinical excellence. Students are nominated by their clinical instructors.

Selection is based upon the following characteristics:

  1. Attitude
  2. Communication
  3. Acceptance of Responsibility
  4. Application of Skills
  5. Professionalism
